Our low clearance hardware takes less than 2 inches of room to install and operate over the door. Our two design compared below are in many ways the same track with just a little bit of variation in the track shape and materials to offer different features.

Let's compare the Low Profile V Track - Lowest Clearance Barn Door Hardware to the Low Profile Barn Door Track Kit - Expandable Length

Here are shared features for both kits:

  • Top of wheel is only 1 3/4" higher than top of door.
  • Kits come complete with lag screws, correct length bolts for your thickness door, floor guide, and powder coated black.
  • Made in America
  • Ball bearing nylon wheel and adjustable axle assembly- both hangers are the same between the designs.
  • All components in both kits are identical except for the stick of track itself.
  • Free shipping up to 8' lengths. $10 per kit discount if ordering more than one kit
  • Installer drills mounting holes in track on site to match up with stud layout in the wall.

Features only for the Low Profile V Track - Lowest Clearance Barn Door Hardware

  • One piece steel tracks in lengths of 5' through 20'. Only offered in 1' increments.
  • 10' and longer lengths must ship by freight truck at a higher cost.
  • Very strong and secure. Can handle doors up to 400 lbs. Can span 3' of distance between mounting points on the wall.
  • In summary this is when one should by this track: installing heavier than normal doors or concerned about attachment points in wall.

Features only for the Low Profile Barn Door Track Kit - Expandable Length

  • This would be our normal recommend track to use. It is our latest design. We have gone through four different generations of change on our V tracks in the last 16 years. All are our proprietary design only offered here at RLP. This track is our best option we offer.
  • One piece extruded aluminum tracks in lengths of 2' through 8'. (longer custom cut lengths available for special order)
  • Any infinite length combination can be created in 6" increments by buying multiple sections of track and using supplied splice kit to join them together.  Our novel design perfectly aligns the sections of track to where wheels will roll smooth and quietly over joints.
  • Much more affordable to ship and a better value.
  • Easier to drill or cut to custom lengths.
  • Tends to be straighter and easier to install. Recommended attachment to the wall at the end of each section of track and 16" on center.
  • Weight capacity 250 pounds.
  • In summary this is when one should by this track: custom length requirements, value driven, using normal and lighter doors, needing longer than normal track lengths, want double doors with two tracks to perfectly align.
